NEWS: The legend of the Phoenix reclinata

I spoke to a new person John interested in joining our NFPS group. He
lives in outside of Quincy, FL. I mentioned the Phoenix reclinata
located there in town and he knew exactly which one I was talking
about. Turns out the woman's family that lives there planted it when
they built the home in the 1930's! She has historical photos and is
willing to share a pup to at least John latter this summer. It only
shows damage at 18 degrees or lower. It has had several large trunks
removed to keep it thinned out but the historical photos show what
appears to be a clump of Canary Island Dates, because of the massive
size. It is likely to be a hybrid mix of some sort. Nice story John and welcome!
